Look up at the URL, you are now at www.davidbdean.com (unless you are reading this in syndication). If you go to any URL at cebidae.com you will be permanently redirected to the same location here. You can also get to here from www.dbdean.com too. Hopefully nothing will break. I’m hoping this will look a little more professional, and get me a bit higher on Google for david dean.

It was really simple to do:

Point davidbdean.com at this website

Create a redirection website with only a
.htaccess
file containing ‘
RedirectPermanent / http://www.davidbdean.com/
‘

Point cebidae.com and dbdean.com to the redirection website

And it all just, hopefully, works.

Since I seem to get a huge amount of comment spam anyway (which Akismet handles without bothering me for the most part), I have decided that I would use the dofollow wordpress plugin to turn off nofollow on the comments that I actually let through to this blog. You know, if there were any.

I’m fairly confident that nofollow has had zero effect on comment and trackback spam, but it probably has had an effect on commenting patterns. More here. It seems to me if you can post a useful comment on someones blog, a little bit of link-love back isn’t much to ask.

So, if anyone ever comments on my blog, you can have some of my mighty PR4 linking-ability right back. Unless it’s spam. Which won’t get through.
