UPDATE: More up-to-date information is available here.

I hope that most of my 10 or so regulars will actually make use of this information, because if my only regulars already know me then that is a little sad… but oh well, here goes….

I am a PhD student in the Speech, Audio, Image and Video Technologies (SAIVT) laboratory at QUT’s Garden Point Campus in Brisbane, Australia. My area of research is currently going by the title of “Audio-visual speaker recognition”, and I am just past 1 year into researching this topic (which means I have done very little actual work :) ), and I have just less than 2 years to go. I have had one conference paper accepted for the AVSP 2005 conference upcoming in July in Canada, and I am hoping another conference paper submitted to ISSPA 2005 in August will be accepted.

More details to come in the future… (such as personal life – for hints see my flickr photos)

If you want to contact me, I can be reached at ddean at ieee dot org, and if you want to see things that I find interesting, but am too lazy to put up here, look at my del.icio.us feed.
