Solution to Computer Viruses?

Ever since large numbers of people have been getting access to the internet, the game has been changing for computer security. Adequate solutions in the past can no longer handle the scale of threats that occur now. Large numbers of machines on the internet are vulnerable to known and unknown attacks. As a group, they have become powerful vectors for viruses and more threats. To say that this is a serious *problem* is an understatement. In this article I am going to examine the causes for these problems and propose some practical solutions. I believe that computer viruses would come to an end if these solutions were implemented.
